5th-year Chinese
Posted on April 23, 2007 by Cha Shao Bao
During dinner, I met a junior who’s currently helping the head Chinese language professor write next year’s 5th-year curriculum. Since I’ll be doing 4th-year Chinese this summer, I’ll be in that 5th-year class this fall. She told me that the work is VERY difficult. Just to qualify her statement, she’s from China, and said the work would be difficult for her.
She told me to be afraid.
I am. I am very afraid.

Hey, no need to be afraid. Just go for it! Do the best you can. I am learning Japanese at my university. I always complain about the class pace slow, not enough intensity. I wish to do more than than. If you really love learning Chinese, there is really nothing to be afraid of. Enjoying what you’re doing!
Good luck!
